Second Preview Service + Audio

We had our second preview service at Defoor Centre today, and from my vantage point it was a wonderful morning. We'll still learning and working out glitches (as I'm sure we'll be doing indefinitely), but there seemed to be a spirit of warmth, solidarity, and momentum among us. For this, and for every other blessing, we give all the credit to God.

August 19 Preview Service

We're going to have our second (and last) "preview" service this Sunday morning, and all are invited. Here are the relevant details.

Who: Anyone interested in exploring or deepening Christian faith, in the context of a local community. Our focus is on the neighborhoods of Atlanta's intown westside.

What: A simple worship service, with singing, praying, preaching, and communion -- all explained for the uninitiated, and none mandatory. Nursery will be provided for the youngest kids, and we'll have a children's worship lesson for the "older" kids during the sermon.

When: 10:30 a.m., ending no later than noon (and hopefully sooner).

Where: Defoor Art Centre, 1710 Defoor Avenue, 30318 www.defoorcentre.com. This is adjacent to the Underwood Hills Neighborhood, just .2 mile from the Waffle House on Howell Mill Road.

Wear: We don't have a single standard for what's appropriate to wear, so use your own judgment. It's not a black tie affair, but it's not a cookout, either. Your presence is the main thing.

What next: We're planning to start weekly services on Sept 9, which is the first Sunday after Labor Day. If all goes well at Defoor Centre this Sunday, we'll probably be meeting there for a while. Check back here for updated information in the coming weeks.
